Tombstone Tuesday: Hugh Hawkins

For the next couple of weeks, I will be featuring photos from Toone's Chapel Cemetery, in Tulip, Arkansas in my Tombstone Tuesdays Posts. I took these pictures back in 2004, so the quality isn't that great. Most of the people buried in the cemetery are related to me or my family.

May 7 1971

Hugh Gill Hawkins is the oldest child of Junius Hawkins Sr. and Maggie Pattillo Hawkins.  He was born in Dallas County, Arkansas and died in Leola, Grant County, Arkansas. Hugh had six children, two are now deceased. Hugh was my 2nd Cousin, twice removed.

    Wow, this is wonderful Mila. I remember those rides in the back of Grandpa's truck and those .25 scoops of ice cream. I always wanted 3 scoops. I love this blog. Keep up the good work.

    My name is maury wright. Maggie Hawkins is my great grandmother. Pattillo was her last maiden name. She married Junius Hawkins. My grandfather name is Eddie Hawkins born in 1905. Akex Smith is my great grand father. He was a free slave tgat was given over 120 acers ok land. Some one took it.
